THCP is a type of THC that was thrust into the limelight after the passing of the 2018 Farm Bill. This cannabinoid has more intense uplifting properties than Delta 9 THC and mostly appeals to experienced cannabis consumers looking for the most potent psychoactive effects.

Besides the uplifting effects, THCP also offers various wellness and therapeutic benefits, which is another reason it has enjoyed massive attention from cannabis consumers.

You can enjoy our diverse range of THCP disposable vapes and vape carts that come in various delicious flavors and concentrations.

What are the Effects of THCP?

The effects of THCP vary from person to person and depend on various factors, like how much THCP you consume.

The most obvious effects to expect after taking THCP are the heavy mental effects and physical buzz. It also produces relaxing and calming effects, putting your body and mind in a state of deep relaxation.

THCP might also produce more stimulating auditory and visual perception in some fans. Allowing you to see richer colors and amplified sounds after taking THCP products. For the most part, the effects are close to those of conventional THC, only more powerful and intense.

What is THCP?

THCP or Tetrahydrocannabinol is an organic cannabinoid similar to Delta 9 THC. However, the two compounds have slight chemical differences, which result in the different effects the two compounds produce when consumed.

THCP has a longer alkyl chain with seven carbon atoms compared to Delta 9 THC, which has five. This allows THCP to bind more readily with CB1 receptors in the brain, producing more potent psychoactive effects.

Although THCP is a naturally occurring compound, it’s present in trace amounts. Therefore, THCP products are not made from natural THCP extract but from other hemp-derived compounds converted into THCP.

How Was THC-P Discovered?

The THCP compound was discovered in 2019 by a team of Italian researchers led by Cinzia Citti. While working on an Italian strain called FM2, the group stumbled on the compound, sifting through different cannabinoids. Using their knowledge and skills in chromatography techniques, the team separated the different cannabinoids with high efficiency to isolate THCP.

After separating THCP, they tested this novel cannabinoid and compared it to THC. The group also tested a small amount of the THCP on the human CB1 receptors and quickly realized the discovery was far more potent than Delta 9 THC. Its potency and efficacy have been the driving force behind its ravaging popularity.

How THCP Compares to Other Common Cannabinoids

Every THC isomer on the market has had a unique experience and separate benefits that it offers its consumers. THCP isn’t any different.

THCP vs. Delta 9 THC

Delta 9 THC remains the standard for all types of THC because it is the one most people have an experience with. It's the traditional form of THC and an excellent place to start the comparison.

Delta 9 THC and THCP share the same effects. But THCP binds more strongly to our system and produces more potent effects than Delta 9 THC.

THCP vs. Delta 8 THC

Delta 8 is more commonly compared to Delta 9 THC because they share more similarities. Compared to the effects of Delta 8, THCP has far more potent uplifting effects. Although these compounds are more different than they are alike, they are commonly paired together to enhance each other’s therapeutic effects, such as appetite stimulation and discomfort support.

THCP vs. THCO

THCP and THCO are both more potent than Delta 9 THC. THCO is thought to be three times more potent than Delta 9 THC, whereas THCP is potentially 33 times more powerful than Delta 9 THC.

Besides the difference in potency, the two compounds come in different forms. THCO isn’t naturally present in the hemp plant. It’s always created through the conversion of other hemp-derived cannabinoids, while THCP is a naturally occurring cannabinoid in the hemp plant but can also be created through the conversion of other cannabinoids.

The two compounds also have differences in how they interact with the body to produce effects. THCP binds to the CB1 receptors instantly, while THCO takes longer to bind to the CB1 receptors, so it may take longer to feel the effects.

THCP vs. HHC

HHC is a unique, uplifting cannabinoid that is best known for delivering relaxing benefits while keeping the mind clear, unlike THCP, which has more powerful effects on both the body and mind.

THCP vs. CBD

The greatest difference between THCP and CBD is that the latter doesn’t produce any uplifting effects, while THCP is the most powerful psychoactive cannabinoid at the moment. Because of the vast difference, the two compounds appeal to different cannabis consumer demographics.

CBD appeals to those interested in the wellness and therapeutic benefits, while THCP is more attractive to those looking for the uplifting and psychoactive effects of THC.

Is THCP Safe?

THCP, like other cannabinoids, is safe and well-tolerated in the body. Because it is more powerful, we recommend taking a bit more time to get your serving right, even for experienced cannabis fans, to ensure you get the expected effects.

THCP products are only recommended for adults aged 21 and above. If you are taking any prescription medication, we recommend consulting your doctor before taking THCP because it might amplify some of the effects of the medication.

Is THCP Legal?

THCP is federally legal in the United States. Its legality is covered under The 2018 Farm Bill, which differentiated between marijuana and hemp-derived products and made hemp-derived products containing less than 0.3% Delta 9 THC by dry weight federally legal.

We suggest determining the legality of THCP in your state before buying your preferred THCP products from Koi.

How Much THCP Should You Take?

The amount of THCP you should take boils down to personal preference and tolerance. As with other cannabinoids, you must experiment with different servings to find the ideal one that produces the right effects.

Because THCP is highly potent, up to 0.5mg is a good starting point for most cannabis fans. But, if you’re new to uplifting cannabinoids, there’s no harm in starting even lower and working your way up slowly until you get to your sweet spot.

We’ve followed the same principles and policies to craft amazing THCP disposable vapes and vape carts that deliver a compelling and intense THCP experience. Here are some reasons you should try our line of THCP products.

Hemp-derived THCP

THCP products are only federally legal if the THCP extract is hemp-derived. That is why all our THCP products, like our THCP vape carts, are made from hemp-derived THCP and adhere to the regulations of the 2018 Farm Bill to ensure the products are federally legal and safe for consumption.

US-grown Hemp

We work with partners that source the highest quality hemp grown in the US. Most hemp farms in the US have strict growth standards and ensure their hemp is organically and industrially grown. The hemp undergoes thorough testing to ensure it’s of the highest quality and meets the highest agricultural standards. It is grown in fertile soils following the best farming practices to ensure it has the perfect cannabinoid profile at harvest.

Using high-quality hemp produces a high-quality extract that yields top-quality THCP without common contaminants like pesticides, herbicides, and heavy metals.

3rd-Party Lab Testing

Third-party lab tests are standard at Koi. We work with ISO-certified third-party labs to test our products for purity, potency, and safety.

We also conduct a full panel test on our THCP products and provide our consumers with comprehensive results through Certificates of Analysis (CoAs), which are available on our lab results page

We pride ourselves on the quality and consistency of our products. We’ve achieved this by automating most of our production processes and limiting human intervention to reduce errors and cross-contamination. Quality Packaging

Our quality and innovative packaging provides as much information as possible on the products you purchase from Koi and keeps your THCP products fresh until you open the product. The packaging protects the contents from sun and light degradation and prolongs the products' shelf-life.

Benefits of THC-P Vape

THC-p vape carts carry their own benefits that attract people looking for a good experience. These vape carts offer benefits such as;

Easy to use

Vape carts are incredibly easy to use compared with other vaping equipment, such as dab rigs. The carts come pre-filled with your selected THC-P blend and flavor and attach to your current vape device, which you're already familiar with. Once you load the cart, all you have to do is press a button and inhale.

Convenient and portable

THC-P vape carts come highly recommended if you're always on the road. They don't take up much space in your luggage and are lightweight. The carts are perfect if you're looking for something that delivers that amazing experience on the go but doesn't weigh you down. You can take them anywhere without causing distraction or a mess.

Plenty of options

The diversity of the cannabis industry has been one of the driving forces behind its current success, and vape carts are not about to take that away from you. With the vape carts, you have many options, ranging from the concentration of the THC-P to the flavors and blends available. You can customize your experience as you please based on the available variety.

Highly efficient and effective

THC-p vape carts are the fastest way to deliver THC-p into your body. When using vape carts, most people report experiencing the effects in a matter of seconds. Also, they have the highest bioavailability, which is cost-effective because you only need to vape a small amount to get the right results.

Disposable vapes

Another great alternative for vapers is disposable vapes. These are particularly ideal for new vapers who don't own a vaping device and don't want the responsibility of taking care of one. Disposable vapes are an all-in-one device that simplifies the vaping process. They come pre-filled and pre-charged and don't require any setups.

Like the vape carts, you can find THC-P disposable vapes in various flavors and strengths to suit your preferences. Some brands even go as far as having the vape liquid in the disposable vape made from live resin to capture all the good stuff in the hemp plant. A good example is the Koi THC-P +HHC+Delta 8 live resin disposable vapes. These come in several delectable flavors such us Slurricane, Lemon Slushie, Cherry Gelato, Apple Fritter, and Moonberry.

Benefits of THC-P disposable vapes

Disposable vapes are comparable to vape carts as far as the THC-P delivery is concerned. But they also have some other additional benefits that might appeal particularly to new vapers.

Easy to use

Disposable vapes are even easier to use than vape carts. They come as a single device, usually activated and ready to use from the packaging. All you have to do is inhale, and the device starts producing vapor.

They are compact

You can purchase multiple disposable vape pens and easily carry them as you move around. The device is small enough to fit in your pocket without creating a bulge, and it is lightweight.

Variety

You can choose from different types of disposable vapes. The range includes disposable vapes with varying capabilities to different strengths, flavors, and blends of the vape liquid. Just like vape carts, you can customize your experience with disposable vapes.

What to Look for in the Best THC-P Products

Knowing what to look for when buying any THC-p product is crucial and ensures you get value for money and purchase products that are safe and work as expected.  Look no further than Koi.

Brand reputation

Brand reputation is the first thing you want to look into when buying THC-P products. Not just that of the THC-P brand but the vendor as well.

You want to work with reputable, trustworthy brands with a track record of delivering high-quality, safe THC-P products. How do you confirm this? Simply check online reviews about the brand, their track record, how long they have been in the business, any awards or certifications they have, and the information on their website.

Good brands are transparent about their products and try to provide potential buyers with as much accurate information as possible about their products to help them make informed purchases.

Hemp source

THC-P comes from hemp extract. US-based hemp is the best for THC-P products because the environment of the hemp is highly controlled, and US-based industrial farms only use tried and true cultivation methods.

Ingredients

Many THC-P vape products require additional ingredients to create them. In cases where the product requires additional ingredients, you should ensure the ingredients used are safe for human consumption.

Additionally, make sure you know every ingredient in the list of your preferred product, and keep away from products containing long, complicated ingredients as a safe measure. You should also avoid THC-P products containing preservatives.

Strength

The reason for checking the strength is to ensure you don't get a product that is too strong for your liking. It will make getting the right dosage feel like walking a tightrope. Just like getting the right quality, you also need to get the right strength. It's the magical balance that brings everything together.

Third-party lab reports

Every reputable THC-P brand works with an ISO-certified lab to confirm the quality, potency, and composition of their products. The labs provide a report called a certificate of analysis that highlights their findings.

You should find this certificate on the vendor’s website and review it before placing your order. This way, you’re certain of the product you are purchasing.

THC P FAQs

What is the difference between THC and THC-P?

THC and THC-P are more alike than they are different. However, THC-P does have a longer alkyl side chain, which may explain its higher affinity for the CB1 receptors in the ECS and, consequently, its more potent effects. However, more research is required to understand the full implications of this molecular structural difference between THC and THC-P.

Is THC-P legal?

THC-P is federally legal in the United States, but it must conform to the 2018 Farm Bill guidelines that require the cannabinoid to be hemp-derived and contain no more than 0.3% of Delta 9 THC by dry weight. Before purchasing the product, you should check its legality in your location to avoid problems with law enforcement.

Does THC-P get you high?

Yes, THC-P does produce uplifting effects. Studies have shown that it has elevating properties and a strong affinity for CB1 receptors in the brain. Anecdotal reports indicate that the uplifting effects of THC-P are stronger than those of Delta 9 THC.

Will THC-P show up on a drug test?

Yes, it is highly likely that THC-P will trigger a “positive” on a standard drug test. When you consume THC isomers like THC-P, they are broken down by the liver and produce the same metabolite called THC-COOH, which is what standard drug tests check for.

The metabolite lingers in your body for a while, and because the standard test cannot differentiate between THC and THC-P, it will return a positive result.

How long does THC-P last?

The duration of the effects of THC-P depends on the type of product you take and certain physiological factors like your metabolism. Inhaling THC-P, like with a vape, has the shortest-lasting effects, but products like gummies or tend to have longer-lasting effects that can last two or more hours.

How long does THC-P take to kick in?

This is also determined by the type of product you take. Gummies and edibles have the longest onset of effects because they must go through digestion. Inhalation has the fastest onset of effects, which is a few minutes after your first inhale.

Legal Status

Koi’s cannabinoid products are legal under the 2018 Farm Bill. Signed into law in December 2018, the federal legislation legalizes hemp, which the law defines as any part of the plant, including all derivatives, with no more than a 0.3 percent concentration of THC. This includes hemp-derived cannabinoids like CBD, delta-8 THC, and many more.

While these hemp products are legal federally, guidelines can and do vary by state due to differing controlled substances laws. Some states have banned some hemp cannabinoids.
